West Virginia Black Bears Coaching Staff for 2018 Announced

The Pittsburgh Pirates have announced their minor league coaching staffs for the 2018 season.

Kieran Mattison has been named manager of the West Virginia Black Bears. Mattison attended East Carolina University and signed as an undrafted free agent by the Kansas City Royals on July 15, 2002. He played several years in the minor leagues, independent leagues, and a team in Taiwan.

Mattison coached for the Indianapolis Indians in 2015 and was a coach with the Gulf Coast League Pirates in 2016. He managed the Dominican Summer League (DSL) Pirates in 2017. The DSL Pirates finished the season 36-34.

Jonathan Prieto returns as the hitting coach and Tom Filer returns as the pitching coach.
