Former WV Black Bears' Mitchell Tolman receives 50 game suspension

According to a Tweet from Adam Berry, beat reporter for MLB.com and a Pittsburgh Gazette article by Elizabeth Bloom, former West Virgina Black Bears' prospect Mitchell Tolman has been suspended for 50 games for violation of the minor league drug policy. Tolman reportedly received a second positive test for a "drug of abuse".

Tolman was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the seventh round of the 2015 Major League draft and played in 63 games for the New York-Penn League Champion Black Bears. He played for the West Virginia Power during the 2016 season and was assigned to the Bradenton Mauraders for most of the 2017 season before being promoted to the Eastern League Champion Altoona Curve late in the season.
